I have a confession to make. I am a big time foodie. Any new restaurant launch or food competition in town, I am expected to be in attendance. I am that popular. Street style foods or five star restaurants, the standard doesn’t matter to me as much as the variety and taste.
My wife makes good food too, but to be frank, it gets boring after a while. How I wish I could eat anything that I would like to, the moment I wish for it! So, restaurants are my personal genie that never makes face everytime when asked for a three course meal or what was special for the day!
Just today, when I saw an advertisement for the new restaurant launch in the locality, I couldn’t contain my glee. Much to my wife’s chagrin, I headed for my tasty ritual.
I ordered for spicy vegetable fritters and a plate of hot Samosas. The ambience of the restaurant was very pleasant and from the place I sat, I could watch the live kitchen through the glass partition.
I was glad that I chose to visit, because the food in the new restaurant was so delicious. I couldn’t have asked for more. Never in my life have I tasted such a mouthwatering food. I decided that it was going to be my go-to place from then on.
I heaped praise on the chef and asked for the secret ingredient that he had used to enhance the taste. He shyly lapped up my compliment, but didn’t give away his secret, even when I insisted.
I had to use the toilet then, so I went, finished off the job. As I came out of my stall, seeing the chef coming out of the adjacent stall, I gave him an awkward smile. When I went to wash my hands, I saw that the water wasn’t available. ‘There must be some plumbing problem’, I mumbled and went to enquire the staffs about the same.
As I headed there, I saw the same chef who used the toilet before me, was kneading the dough with his bare hands in the live kitchen. Just then I remembered that there was no water in the toilet! Yikes!
Go on…Have a good laugh at my expense.
