#322. HOW CONTENT ARE YOU?

This post of mine is going to be my outlook on life and would be philosophical.

Just like this adorable panda who has got a comfortable basket, still eyes on a bigger wicker basket, we keep eyeing on better things in our life, while neglecting wonderful things that are already at our disposal.

To be happy or not is our choice.

Instead of cribbing about what we don’t have in life, let us focus on what we are blessed with. Whenever I face an obstacle/ all-consuming-distress, I think about people who are in a lesser position than me but are facing the difficulties and challenges that life bestows on them, with much more élan. This makes me realize how fortunate I am to have good supporting people around me, to have no physical/mental disability. This positive thought takes away the negativity and pacifies my soul.

Contendness focuses on being satisfied on what one has, instead of always wishing for something more.

Being ambitious and being content are different terms and are not to be confused. Professional and personal discontentment are two different entities.

Everyone should be ambitious. Being content should not metamorphize us into a mere couch potato with no drive in life. We can be discontent with the work we do and try to achieve more and be ambitious. It has nothing to do with us, being content as a person. We can always choose to be content and happy as a person, irrespective of what we achieve in life. Gandhiji has rightly stated, “Healthy discontent is the prelude to progress”.

Set your vision and work towards it, but remember to appreciate even the smallest things in your life.

Let us count the blessings we have, not the problems! Let this wonderful thought brighten your day!

Formerly a Software professional, I have been a homemaker for a while. My life revolves around my two daughters. Having started writing only recently, I just discovered what I have been missing all along in my otherwise almost-perfect life. I want to create postive content inspiring minds across all age groups.
