#386. THE INSPIRATION- A Photofiction

“Woah! This looks so real! Who was your inspiration?”

Shweta smiled gracefully, as she lapped up all the praises that came her way. It wasn’t everyday that someone who had been away from the art scene for a while, made heads turn with her dashing comeback. To many, it felt as if she had never left the scene.

“You should have never left, Shweta”

“I needed a break to rediscover myself”

“Ya..That shows! That’s quite a gathering you have amassed on your first day of art exhibition. It just shows your credibility”

Shweta smiled and looked ahead. ‘What they didn’t know, wouldn’t hurt them’, she thought. No one knows that the inspiration for the particular portrait came from her very own experience of staying in a mental health facility for a year. The feeling of the ever-present void couldn’t be explained by even a thousand such paintings. But, what mattered more was her ability to come back stronger from the deep pit she was in.
