Remember the last time…

After his wife’s sudden demise, Victor had inherited all her wealth. Her car had skidded off the cliff and her swollen body was found two days later from the shore. He couldn’t be more proud of his foolproof plan and the clean execution of the ‘accident’.

When the case was closed as an accident and his insurance claims were processed smoothly, Victor wanted to celebrate it in his favorite resort.

As he was driving the car, Victor was taken aback by the appearance of a crescent shaped moon both in the sky infront of him and also in the rearview mirror. The moon’s image seemed to be closing in on him, even as he drove forward at an accelerated speed.

Suddenly a blood smeared face appeared in the rearview mirror out of nowhere. “Remember the last time we travelled together, honey!”

His wife’s shrilly voice was the last he heard before his car drove off the same cliff into the deep sea.

  1. Now, Ramya, this is so wonderfully gory that it actually made me laugh! Tragi-comedy is going to be your forte.
Thank you, I am off to work but you did give me a lift. And that picture, where do you find them!?

    1. Thanks Radhika.
I personally don’t believe in them. But, the belief that none of our errors would go unpunished in this world, should be enough for us to be extra careful.
